Who is Able2B??
Able2B is an organization unique in the UK aiming to improve day to day outcomes for people with a disability using Sport’s Medicine Principles.
Cofounded by Rachael Hutchinson, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Jon Thaxton, Former British and European Boxing Champion their concept is unique in the UK and seen some amazing results.
From a simple after-school class for Rachael’s patients, it has developed in 5 years to become one of the biggest disability centres in the UK with it’s own adapted gym, over 200 clients a week and numerous collaborations with charities, schools and other organisations.
Rachael recognized the limitations of her surgical outcomes without this kind of service. Her work is voluntary. Her aim to provide children and adults with a disability better daily independence using a method where they have not only shown great physical results but also a very cost-effective model which could save pressures on acute NHS services and social care.
Their results are out-standing-getting children a people after a stroke walking independently when they were told they never would-not once or twice but over and over again.
