The Brain & Spine Foundation is the only UK-wide charity providing expert information, support and education on the full range of neurological problems.
Our Helpline, led by Nurses, along with 27 accredited and downloadable booklets and fact sheets, allows us to provide much-needed quality information and support to those affected.
There are more than 350 different conditions of the brain and spine, and together they affect more than 12 million people in the UK. Neurological problems frequently have a long-term impact, sometimes without prospect of a cure, and the associated treatments are often hard to understand and cope with for those affected and their families.
The Brain & Spine Foundation exists to provide this information and to be there during diagnosis, treatment and in the longer term, to answer questions and provide support throughout a patient's journey - both for patients themselves, and for those affected by a loved one's condition.
Our Helpline is a free service staffed by Neuroscience Nurses. The nurses can answer questions about all neurological conditions, from the fairly common to the very rare, and can offer information and support on any medical, or related social or emotional, issue of concern.
We also provide 27 informative booklets and fact sheets on different conditions, procedures and symptoms. Accredited by the Department of Health's Information Standard, the publications are freely available online, by post and through our partner organisations.
