Lee has specialised in medical law for the past 15 years and has a vast amount of experience of cases involving complex medical issues and life changing injuries.
Many of Lee’s clients have wide-ranging and challenging needs that require creative solutions
Lee acts on behalf of patients and their families. His work involves:
• Clinical negligence claims: including brain and spinal cord injury, amputations and fatal accidents.
• Patient’s rights: including claims under the human rights act, claims involving fertility treatment, and judicial review.
Additionally, Lee is a Trustee of GAIN, a charity supporting patients with Guillain-Barre Syndrome and chronic inflammatory neuropathies.
Sex is a basic human need, yet it is routinely overlooked when dealing with the effects of a life changing injury. Often this is through embarrassment, or a lack of understanding on the part of the professionals involved. It is, however, vital to take sexuality into account when assessing a person’s needs following a severe injury. Lee’s talk will look at the ways in which support workers, family members, and medical and legal professionals can approach with the topic and how various claims have been advanced before the courts.
