Markos Demetriou comes from a creative background, having completed his degree in (BA) Computer Games Art at Teesside University, followed by two illustrated publications while working in Birmingham. Personal developments however with elderly members of his family, shifted his focus towards developing products that can have a positive social impact, which eventually led to the co-founding of iResTech, whose first line of products lie within the assistive tech market.
During his two years with the company, he has worked on the creative and technical development of their products and their marketing, has been in the front line of user interaction and feedback collection, gathering numerous insights to user behaviour which have been put to use in successful funding applications with the Cypriot government and the EU’s H2020 programme. He has also worked on the company’s patent application and has been the company’s spokesperson in various events, conferences and exhibitions.
A short journey through the advancement of Smart devices, the expected future developments and the consequent effects they can have on our society, with a focus on the positive impact they can have to the senior lifestyle. The smart devices in question will range from home utilities to health monitoring devices.
