Speaker profile for Matthew Warnes: Speaking at Naidex

Speaker Name: Matthew Warnes

Company Name: GrandCare Systems Limited

Matthew is the CEO of GrandCare Systems Ltd. He founded the company following a tragic car accident which resulted in both legs being amputated above the knee and 65% third degree burns to his body. After more than 130 operations, Matthew’s only opportunity to live independently was to design and build a house with environmental controls and assistive and adaptive technology. He wanted to use this experience to help others with disabilities live in the comfort and dignity they deserve.
Matthew has developed an innovative combined care and technology supported living model which not only gives adults with learning and physical disabilities the opportunity to live independently, it also reduces the cost of providing assisted care by 40% for local authorities and care providers. This model has been welcomed and praised by the sector and GrandCare have set a vision that is being implemented by many councils and the private sectors up and down the country.
