Seminar Title: Open Bionics: developing the world's first 3D printed multi-grip bionic hand

Open Bionics will showcase how they have been working with NHS England to provide low-cost multi-grip bionic hands to children and young people. This trial set out to improve the clinical experience of upper-limb amputees and test the functional and psychosocial advantages of using multi-grip bionic limbs.

Open Bionics was awarded an NHS product development contract for their low-cost bionic hands - becoming the first healthcare system in the world to trial this new technology with patients as young as 8 years of age.

This seminar will demonstrate how 3D printing can help innovate socket design, improving comfort for amputees, and radically reduce the cost of advanced myoelectric prosthetic hands.
