Amy Thompson
Amy Thompson is a charity founder and CEO, winner of a National Diversity Award, and a freelance content creator and disability advocate.
Amy was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) just after her 21st birthday. She felt there was little representation and a lack of support specifically for young adults living with MS. Amy started blogging about her experience of living with MS on her platform ‘But you don’t look ill’ and took part in a number of campaigns and media interviews to help raise awareness. A number of young people reached out to Amy to thank her for speaking out about living with MS as a young person. She then realised there were a lot of people out there who were also feeling the same and looking for support.
Amy founded MS Together back in 2019 as a Community Organisation and in 2022, they launched as a new UK-based Charity. Today MS Together provides services of advice and support to people with MS, with a particular focus on those aged 18–35. The charity provides a number of social, supportive and educational events and services, both virtually and in-person.
MS Together supports hundreds of young adults all across the UK and is growing every day. Our hope is that anyone diagnosed with MS between the age of 18-35 is directed to our services by their healthcare professionals as soon as possible.
