Consultant Therapist (FES), Service Lead and & Project Manager Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) Clinic, Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

Currently a Consultant Physiotherapist & Service Lead for the Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) clinic at the regional West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre, Birmingham, UK. Instrumental in developing the clinical application of FES nationally since 1994 for patients with long term neurological conditions of all ages. Current research interests are in the management of constipation with FES, gait for amputee patients using FES and the treatment of Parkinsons patients with a FES drop foot stimulator. Steering group member for national Multiple Sclerosis audits and more recently the development of Clinical FES Guidelines for the use of drop foot stimulators to support walking published in 2022. Keen to see FES tools widely available for education, rehabilitation and maintenance to assist with the quality of life for a diverse range of patients.
