Damaris Cooke

Born into a profoundly deaf family and having faced barriers her entire life, accessibility has become a passion of hers. Her role as Business Development Manager at SignVideo by Sorenson enables her to educate services/organisations on deaf awareness and enable them to become more inclusive and accessible to the deaf BSL community. She also works as a BSL presenter for BT Sport’s pioneering football programme, Sign Up so her TV work also has accessibility at its very core and both jobs link up nicely!

Outside work, sport has been a lifelong obsession of hers where she was always trying to keep up with her two older brothers. She also captained GB Deaf Women at three Deaflympics winning two bronzes in the process. She may be retired but am naturally competitive when participating in social sports…oh and at board games too.
