Syd King

Syd is a Queer, Trans, Disabled, Neurodivergent & Mad performer, activist and researcher, and is the Chair & Founder of the Disabled Students' NFP; an organisation run by and for Disabled, Neurodivergent, Mentally Ill & D/deaf students and graduates in Greater Manchester, offering socials, 121 advocacy work and campaigns. On top of this, they advocate for Independent Students and Sex Workers and fight for the rights of Medium & High Support Needs Disabled people (themselves included) in Higher & Further education. They have worked for multiple Universities, Disabled People's Organisations and the National Union of Students, and have won various awards for their activism - all before graduating from their BSc in Psychology with Placement Year (Hons) in 2023.
