The People First Podcast People First Keighley and Craven

We are a group of adults with learning disabilities and some of us are also neurodiverse. We have a podcast that discusses disability, life and our passions at People First Keighley and Craven.

We plan and present each show, from booking guests, writing scripts, to recording, hosting, editing and posting. We want to make something positive for people to listen to, to make their day a little bit better. It also is a great platform for important information.

We have done over 16 hours of podcasting (that's 46 episodes!) in 2023. Including some amazing guests like Ellie Simmonds, Saba Salman and Shaun Webster, Celia Hensman, Rishi Jain director of impact at Liverpool Football Club, Tom Jamison from Able Magazine, artist Poppy Chancellor, Channel 4's disability reporter Rueben Reuter and more.

We want to show the world our varied talents and prove that learning disabilities are just a small piece of the jigsaw that makes a person and with reasonable adjustments we can achieve anything! Our hard work was rewarded in 2023 with the podcast being shortlisted in the European Lovie Awards, being named as a top 4 project in the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion category.
