Caroline Southgate
Caroline, a sibling of a brother who lived with cerebral palsy, learnt from an early age how disability can impact the family in many ways. When her family travelled with Jumbulance on a holiday it changed her life, it was the first time age 15 that she could see the difference that great accessibility makes to the whole family. She trained as physiotherapist and over thirty years later she is a trustee of the Jumbulance Trust and is determined to find ways to increase access to holidays and days out for everyone. Caroline is CEO of Doris Jones a local home care provider in Southend on sea and the combination of these roles offers an insight into challenging the many barriers to community accessibility.
