Jessikah Inaba

Barrister, Accessibility Advocate and Writer

Jessikah Inaba is a pioneering barrister, accessibility advocate, and writer with a deep passion for justice and inclusion. Born and raised in Lewisham, South London, she is of Congolese heritage and has always been driven by a strong sense of purpose and resilience.

Her journey to the Bar was anything but conventional. Renowned for being the UK's first black and blind barrister, Jessikah navigated significant challenges, completing her legal studies entirely in Braille. Now, she has a deep zeal for alternative dispute resolution, employment, family, housing, immigration, and international law while also dedicating her time to making the legal profession more accessible. She is also the founder of Real eye station, an initiative that promotes accessibility and inclusion through workshops and Braille education.

Never one to stand still, Jessikah is currently pursuing a PhD while also preparing for the California State Bar and the Barreau de Gombe-Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Beyond law, her cherished creative outlets are in music, poetry, and storytelling and she is currently working on her third novel.

Another of her great passions is fragrance. With a collection of over 300 different bottles of perfume, she delights in mixing and matching scents to create something uniquely her own. Jessikah's journey is one of determination, curiosity, and an unwavering commitment to breaking barriers-whether in the courtroom, academia, or her personal pursuits.
