Karen Pearce

Karen trained as a physiotherapist and spent 30 years working in different clinical and managerial roles in the NHS. After successfully gaining an MBA when she was 50, she became Director of Care for the MND Association, where she worked for 7 years before theoretically retiring in 2017. During this time, one of her responsibilities was equipment provision which included wheelchairs and she was one of the founder members of the Wheelchair Alliance. She now undertakes some freelance consultancy and project management. As well as her voluntary work as one of the directors of the Alliance, she is also a Community First Responder, supporting the local ambulance service and a trustee of a neurological charity, based in a London Borough.
