Sharing her experience of finding a new WAV, we recently caught up with Shirley Hodgson, from York, to hear how she decided Peugeot Horizon™ was the car for her.
How the Journey Began
Like many modern shoppers, Shirley’s journey started online before speaking to our expert mobility advisors. She tells us, “Horizon™ really came out tops when I listened to all the details about the WAVs on offer.”

A free home demonstration was arranged and carried out by Shirley’s local mobility consultant, providing her with the opportunity to see the car up close and personal and to try out its accessibility features.
Shirley tells us, “The home demonstration was very useful because I needed to know if the WAV was easy to get into it, would it be straightforward with having lots of different people driving me around and obviously, I wanted to know how comfortable it would be.”
Making Life Easier
As well as demonstrating the accessibility features of your chosen WAV and answering any questions you may have, your mobility consultant will also help you sort out all the necessary paperwork to complete your order.

The Ease of Travelling in a WAV
Sharing the impact her wheelchair accessible vehicle has had on her life Shirley says, “Having had driven for a number of years and then having that independence suddenly taken away, I think it’s a life changer for someone who needs that kind of help.”
She continues, “Having something that other people can take me out in my wheelchair in just makes it easier for everybody. I don’t want to stay at home all the time, I like to go out and I think the WAV just makes it so much easier.”
