After a very unusual couple of years, we continue to thrive and evolve at The Powerchair Company. Regardless of how we grow, we will always stick to our core ethos of building a powerchair that will outlast and outperform any other, all whilst achieving our holy grail of aesthetics… form = function.
Efficiency
We have streamlined production in several ways to ensure the cost of our products are as low as possible. Firstly, with the addition of a computer numerically controlled Lathe, all our parts are now made to exacting tolerances, ensuring a repeatable spare part itinerary and perfect final product. And secondly there has been a redesign of the workshop and improvement of production practices. Innovation Our previous efforts to future proof the chair by ensuring the battery box can take many different sizes of battery have now proved the right thing to do. We are stepping into the future, following the electric car, by using energy dense lithium batteries (*1), these allow for faster charging times, triple the range and a possible 10 year life span. Further enhancements include aircraft and motorsport grade waterproof connectors and wiring looms with silicone cables. All of our components are chosen by an engineer, not an accountant. Personalisation We are very proud of our ability to provide bespoke engineering solutions at an affordable price, and have continued to do so throughout the pandemic, resulting in the worlds first off-road standing powerchair (*2). We also did several, very individual build requirements that exceeded the clients expectations. (*1) We only use the safest lithium chemistry (lifepo4) not lithium-ion. (*2) Obviously not used off road in the standing position!
